The 2015-16 school year marks the beginning of my ninth year at Carver as the Educational Support Services Coordinator. Prior to this, I spent two years with John Knox Christian School as a Special Education Assistant. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from UBC with a major in Psychology in addition to many years of experience working with individuals with various learning, social and emotional needs, and ranging in age from the elementary years through to geriatrics.
I really love working with teenagers because I have to work hard to gain their trust, confidence and respect. I do this by giving them my trust, confidence and respect. The resulting relationships are rich, enjoyable and at times, challenging. Nothing compares to watching a struggling student gain self-confidence, positive social connections and the strong skill sets that will serve them well long after they leave Carver.
