I have been teaching for over 17 years in the VCS/CCHS communities. I have a Bachelor of General Studies from SFU in English and History, a Masters of Christian Studies from Regent College in Applied Theology and a Bachelor of Education from UBC.
I enjoy teaching Christian Studies, English and Spanish because it allows me to use my gifts and talents and to share Christ with students in each subject area. Christian Studies allows us to engage with God’s word and apply it in our lives on a daily basis. English allows us to imagine, discuss, write and listen to the wonders of literature. Spanish allows students to develop the side of their brain which engages with a second or third language. It is my hope that students will learn to read, write, listen and speak their new language.
High school students are a joy to work with. Insightful, articulate people who are learning to encompass their faith with real world issues. For me, it is an honour to take students to another country and engage with culture, language and Christians while sharing the love of Jesus in community.
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
