My childhood was spent split between two big cities on opposite sides of the world — waking to the laughs of kookaburras in Sydney, Australia, and trudging through a foot of snow to get to school in Toronto, Ontario. After high-school I studied psychology and sociology at the University of Toronto and then worked for an inner-city Christian mission for several years. I received my B.Ed. in Ontario and taught Mathematics briefly in the UK before being led to Vancouver to pursue my training as a counselor. I believe that the healing of God’s people and creation are intertwined; my journey into understanding this redemptive relationship has led me to work on five different small-scale organic farms so far and discover the therapeutic benefits of gardening in Christ-centred communities.
